Equans is looking for a Senior Operations Manager Security to join the team in London on a permanent, full‑time basis (40hrs per week). The role offers a competitive salary, a company vehicle or allowance, a bonus and a benefits package.

The post holder will lead and enhance the reputation of the Security, Reception and Support Services – including the Helpdesk and Pass Office – on the 2MS contract. They will ensure effective delivery of these services in line with the PFI contract and coordinate their work to provide exemplary service provision to the Authority. They will operate profit centres, oversee monthly performance reports and KPIs, and manage the financial performance of the services.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver all Security, Reception and sub‑contracted services (including Helpdesk and Pass Office) in line with the contract specification and performance criteria (SOPs/AIs/KPIs).
  • Accountable for service delivery under remit in accordance with business systems such as quality assurance, environmental management, financial systems, administration and policies.
  • Ensure all services are delivered to the specification of the 2 Marsham Street PFI contract, recording changes, developments and additional services with the commercial activity of the contract.
  • Work as part of the Senior Management team at 2 Marsham Street, deputising for the GM as required.
  • Collaborate with the Authority Estates team, Government Department Security and the SPV to meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Monitor and track relevant Key Performance Indicators and self‑reporting protocols in accordance with the PFI contract.
  • Ensure customer‑facing services meet the Authority’s expectations, within contract and budget parameters, and lead and manage customer contact to deliver high standards of quality, care, pro‑activity and professionalism.
  • Control the financial performance of the services, managing annual budgets and ensuring performance against budget and procedures.
  • Manage all HR related issues for staff, liaising with the contract’s HR Manager on matters such as sickness, disciplinary, appraisals, recruitment and welfare.
  • Establish and maintain training and development plans at individual and organisational levels.
  • Ensure effective management of COSHH, PPE and H&S, adhering to industry legislation and company quality systems.
  • Conduct client and staff meetings as required by the contract specification and by the GM on a regular basis.

Qualifications

  • Holder of government security clearance and able to obtain an SIA licence.
  • Experience in client negotiation and monitoring key performance indicators.
  • Good understanding of security access systems.
  • Experience managing a large, varied staff team and handling recruitment, selection, performance management, and absence matters.
  • In‑depth knowledge of industry standards and legislation (SIA licensing, Government security clearances, NPSA).
  • Proven management experience of security operations in a blue‑chip corporate environment or central government.
  • Focus on delivering security services to meet contractual, client, customer and company expectations.
  • Budgetary experience managing a budget over £3 million with commercial acumen and financial drive.
  • Previous contract management experience.
