Role Description

This is a volunteer, on‑site Trustee (Treasurer) role based in London. The Treasurer will oversee the financial health of Packed Lunch Productions, including reviewing management accounts, budgets, and cash flow, and supporting the development of financial strategies that align with the organization’s mission and social enterprise status. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include monitoring income and expenditure, advising on financial controls and risk management, and working with the leadership team to ensure compliance with charity, company, and data protection regulations. The role involves attending board meetings, contributing to governance decisions, supporting fundraising and income‑generation plans, and offering clear financial reports and guidance to fellow trustees. The Trustee (Treasurer) will collaborate closely with staff, partners, and fellow board members to strengthen sustainable growth and enable more arts‑focused initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, financial planning, and oversight of accounts in a charity, social enterprise, or SME context.
  • Knowledge of charity finance, governance, and regulatory compliance in the UK (e.g., Charity Commission, Companies House, data protection requirements).
  • Ability to interpret financial information and present clear, accessible reports to a non‑financial audience.
  • Experience in or understanding of fundraising, income generation, or social enterprise business models.
  • Interest in or experience with the arts, creative industries, or community‑focused organizations.
  • Collaborative working style, with strong communication, integrity, and sound judgment in board‑level decision‑making.
  • Professional qualification in finance, accounting, or a related discipline (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is beneficial but not essential.
