Commercial Finance Manager

We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for a newly created Commercial Finance Manager position, offering the opportunity to play a key role in the financial performance of a growing Trade Division.

This role would suit someone with a strong finance or commercial finance background who enjoys working closely with operational teams to improve profitability, strengthen financial controls and drive cash flow. Acting as the link between Finance and Operations, you’ll provide commercial oversight across contracts, ensuring projects are financially robust, risks are managed and reporting is accurate.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial performance of contracts from award to final account.
• Monitor project profitability, costs, forecasts and financial reporting.
• Improve cash flow through effective debt management and cash collection.
• Review contract performance, identify financial risks and recommend improvements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Work closely with Finance, Operations and Project Management to improve business performance.
• Manage contract variations, payment issues and commercial disputes where required.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Experience in a Commercial Manager, Commercial Finance, Finance Business Partner, Quantity Surveyor
• Strong financial analysis, forecasting and reporting skills.
• Experience managing project profitability, cash flow or working capital.
• Excellent Excel and ERP systems experience.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence operational teams.
• Experience within construction, manufacturing, fit-out or project-based environments would be advantageous.
