Equans is looking for a Technical Services Manager (Fabric) to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on a permanent basis.
This is a full‑time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Ensure planned preventive maintenance, testing, breakdown maintenance and other contract management related activities on the estate are completed and records maintained.
- Manage the building teams and assist in the operational delivery for site activity.
- Undertake any reasonable duties to maintain all services for the NHS client.
- Provide management support to stakeholders such as University Hospitals Birmingham and Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trusts in meetings and where instructed/required.
- Carry out all works in compliance with Equans KPI’s.
- Manage site performance via use of CAFM systems and other digital based management tools.
- Achieve and manage/maintain RP, DRP and other related AP and CP appointments in disciplines as requested by estates management team to support the contract where required and appropriate.
- Manage fabric related contracts and associated contractors across site. Ensuring all paperwork is delivered on time and works are completed in line with Equans KPI’s and contract SLA’s.

Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of CDM, relevant FM legislation and guidance
- Experience of managing multi‑discipline teams of varying ability to deliver maintenance
- Previous management experience of a critical maintenance delivery team
- Experience and knowledge of complex building services and environments
- Experience of delivering tender reviews, contract management and audit support
- City and Guilds or relevant qualifications in or building/fabric services related engineering with substantial post‑qualification experience
- Driving Licence
- Previous experience of working within a healthcare environment (Desirable)
- Building Safety Act and Regulations understanding and awareness (Desirable)
- Knowledge and understanding of HTMs – healthcare standards and guidance (Desirable)
- Understanding and experience of delivering operational services in a PFI healthcare environment (Desirable)
- This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
