Wood in Stockton is seeking a Principal Project / Interface Engineer on a contract basis for a large global project. The role will be based primarily in Stockton, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Project GI Scope management
  • Managing project work sequence, activities and deliverables for Ground Investigation scope with knowledge and understanding of a contract.
  • Understand and manage the Technical Engineering and project Management Disciplines and associated Scope.
  • Ensure instructions are issued to allow work to progress and facilitate agreement between conflicting requirements; lead the way forward.
  • Challenge the working methods and deliverables and ensure contractors know and comply with the project scope.
  • Understand the project Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) issues and ensure these are handled correctly.
  • Identify risk and implement mitigations.
  • Verify site activities compliance with the contract and HSSE requirements.
  • Effectively manage GI subcontractor performance.
  • Verify contractors’ progress.
  • Prioritise contractors’ activities in line with the project schedule.
  • Monitor and report contractor performance (Cost, Schedule and KPIs).
  • Identify and mitigate risks.
  • Implement and monitor MOC and Risk Management processes.
  • Manage interface between client, principal designer and principal contractors.
  • Coordinate land access-related processes and facilitate the land access process.
  • Assure technical quality and compliance.
  • Integrate with design and stakeholder (land, regulatory requirements, etc.) requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Prior background in project engineering preferable.
  • Engineering experience, with infrastructure (undergrounds or electrical) is beneficial.
  • Experience in an appropriate industry (ideally in one or more of Oil & Gas, LNG & GTL, Refining, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Pharmaceutical, Power, Carbon Capture).
  • Be commercially astute and understand the different approaches required to manage lump sum and reimbursable work.
  • Have a broad technical knowledge.
