Location: Redhill
Job Description:

WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is looking for a Project Manager to join our project delivery team on a permanent, full-time basis based in Redhill, Surrey on a Hybrid basis. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering projects across our growing water, industrial and essential infrastructure portfolio, taking responsibility from contract award and mobilisation through to commissioning, completion and final handover. This is an opportunity to take ownership of technically complex projects, work closely with clients and delivery teams, and play an important part in the continued growth of a specialist engineering business.

WGM Engineering is experiencing significant growth across the UK, delivering critical projects across the water, utilities and infrastructure sectors. As part of RSK Group, we combine the scale and support of a wider group with the practical, hands‑on approach of a specialist engineering delivery business. Our teams work with major clients across regulated environments, delivering multidisciplinary mechanical, electrical, civil and process‑engineering solutions. We are focused on building long‑term capability, strengthening our project teams and creating opportunities for people to build meaningful careers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects through mobilisation, delivery, commissioning, completion and final handover.
  • Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, delivery plans, resource requirements and key milestones.

  • Monitor project performance across programme, cost, scope, risk, change, quality and HSEQ, taking corrective action where required.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and delivery partners, acting as a principal point of contact throughout project delivery.
  • Work closely with commercial colleagues to manage forecasts, costs, variations, compensation events, contractual records and the project’s overall commercial position.
  • Lead project reviews and progress meetings, ensuring risks, decisions, actions and escalations are clearly recorded and followed through.
  • Support tender, pre‑construction and mobilisation activity, including scope review, programme development, resource planning and risk assessment.
  • Manage project close‑out, including commissioning, client acceptance, completion records, handover, final‑account support and lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing engineering, construction or infrastructure projects through to completion and handover.
  • A successful track record of delivering projects safely, on time, within budget and to agreed contractual and quality requirements.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, suppliers and client stakeholders.
  • Strong project‑planning, reporting, risk‑management and commercial‑management experience.
  • Experience monitoring project costs, forecasts, variations, change and overall project performance.
  • A practical understanding of construction health and safety responsibilities and project HSEQ requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the confidence to lead meetings, manage expectations and challenge constructively.
  • Competence using project‑management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project and client locations as required.
  • Experience within the water sector, utilities, industrial engineering or regulated infrastructure would be helpful but is not essential.
  • A relevant engineering, construction‑management or project‑management qualification, together with experience of NEC contracts, CDM Regulations, Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, would also be beneficial.
