Role Overview
We are recruiting a Systems Lead to head the applications support and development function, overseeing a team that delivers critical business systems to users across the council.
Responsibilities
- Take lead responsibility for business critical applications, including Application Lifecycle Management.
- Provide technical leadership on all aspects of business critical systems, demonstrating strong problem‑solving skills.
- Respond to incidents and service requests across applications in a timely manner.
- Oversee application upgrades and developments, ensuring testing and acceptance activities are of high quality.
- Manage a team of System Support Specialists, setting performance targets and monitoring progress against agreed criteria.
- Maintain configuration, installation, upgrades and reconfiguration of databases and related products.
Qualifications
A Level 6 qualification in an IT or related subject is required; where this is not available, a Level 3 qualification with extensive experience of supporting business critical applications will be considered. Leadership and management training is preferred.
