Locum Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedics – Lower Limb

Responsibilities

• Provide a General Trauma and Orthopaedic Service with a specialist interest in primary hip and knee arthroplasty.
• Offer flexible working to fully utilise hospital facilities such as theatres and outpatient services.
• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and participate in audit and clinical governance activities.
• Support complex lower limb trauma as per departmental needs.
• Participate in the 1:10 on‑call rota with a seven‑day working commitment.

Qualifications

• Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship essential (additional Trauma fellowship desirable).
• FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) or equivalent qualification.
• Admission to the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery, or within six months of obtaining CCT/CESR at interview.
