The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimising the end-to-end supply chain function supporting onshore and offshore operations and management of the Logistics and Procurement teams within the region.

Based in Aberdeen, this role ensures the efficient procurement, logistics, mobilisation and lifecycle management of equipment, and specialist services provided by UTEC Geo Services in the onshore and offshore energy sector (oil & gas and renewables).

The role requires strong coordination with project teams, vessel operations, engineering, and external suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supply Chain & Procurement

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for geotechnical survey equipment and subcontracted services
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities including RFQs, tender evaluations, contract negotiation, and supplier onboarding
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and company procurement policies
  • Drive cost efficiencies while maintaining quality and operational reliability
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to support onshore and offshore survey campaigns
  • Plan and coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment primarily within the Europe Africa Region or further afield as required
  • Ensure materials and equipment are available in line with project schedules and vessel mobilisation dates

Logistics & Inventory Management

  • Oversee logistics operations including shipping (domestic and international), freight forwarding, customs documentation, and vessel loading
  • Manage inventory levels of critical survey equipment, spare parts, and consumables where applicable
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers (marine contractors, drilling service providers, equipment manufacturers)
  • Negotiate and manage framework agreements and long-term contracts
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, sustainability, and regulatory standards

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all supply chain activities align with offshore regulatory requirements and HSE standards
  • Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in supply chain or procurement, ideally within offshore, marine, or geotechnical survey industries
    • Strong knowledge of offshore logistics, vessel operations, and project mobilisation
    • Experience managing complex, project-based supply chains in a time-critical environment
    • Commercially astute with strong negotiation and contract management skills
    • Familiarity with the industry supply base and UK offshore logistics landscape
    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
    • Experience supporting offshore wind farm surveys or oil & gas site investigations
    • Knowledge of geotechnical equipment
    • CIPS qualification or equivalent
    • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
