About The Role
This is a rare opportunity to join the Natural History Museum at a transformative moment. Backed by £201m of UK Government investment, we are creating a world‑leading Science and Collections Centre at Thames Valley Science Park—reimagining how we protect, study, and share our collections. As part of the NHM Unlocked Programme, you will lead the delivery of complex Collections Storage projects, shaping innovative solutions, overseeing the relocation of critical research facilities, and supporting the development of new spaces in South Kensington and Thames Valley. You’ll collaborate with passionate experts across curatorial, conservation, design, and operations—leading multidisciplinary teams to drive excellence in the long‑term preservation of the collection.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of complex Collections Storage projects, shaping innovative solutions and ensuring safe relocation of critical research facilities.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across curatorial, conservation, design, and operations to drive excellence in long‑term preservation of the collection.
- Oversee the development of new spaces in South Kensington and Thames Valley, ensuring projects meet scientific, operational and visitor requirements.
- Manage project resources, budgets and timelines while providing strategic and financial oversight.
Qualifications
- Experienced senior project/programme manager with a strong track record delivering complex museum or heritage projects.
- Proven leadership ability to motivate teams, manage resources effectively and balance delivery with strategic and financial oversight.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a capacity to work collaboratively across diverse expert groups.
- Motivation by purpose, enjoyment of complexity and a desire to see tangible impact in a world‑class museum environment.

Hybrid Working
We operate a hybrid working model that requires regular, weekly attendance for this role. The precise pattern of days on site and worked from home will be agreed with your manager.
