Business Process Outsourcing School Leaver Programme – Reading (Autumn 2026)

What you’ll do

You will be part of a team that keeps our clients’ financial operations running smoothly, accurately, and on time. You will learn by doing, with plenty of support along the way.

• Work with a variety of clients, from household names to innovative start-ups, gaining exposure to different industries and challenges.
• Get hands‑on with real accounting services projects by bookkeeping directly from source documents, preparing month‑end management reporting packages, VAT returns and payment runs.
• Understand how businesses work by working directly with key client stakeholders and their auditors, supporting with queries on management reporting, and coordinating with wider teams within Grant Thornton.
• Use data and technology to provide accurate data to our clients and achieve internal efficiencies to meet deadlines, learning to work with widely used accounting systems and tools.
• Keep learning and growing by staying up to date with regulations, developing your professional judgement, and building relationships with mentors and experts across the firm.
• Study with support, with dedicated time to study and a team behind you as you work towards your AAT / CFAB / ACCA.

As part of your training with us you will be provided with study leave to support you through completing your professional qualification. Completing a professional qualification is a substantial commitment and it is important to study in your spare time outside of working hours.
