Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland) was formed from NHS National Services Scotland and NHS Education for Scotland on 1 April 2026. The organisation supports the NHS through national programmes, procurement, logistics, and other core services.
The Post
A Project Support Officer is needed within the Operations and Delivery Team of the Clinical Directorate. The role supports a transformation programme focused on post‑mortem services across Scotland, working with the Crown Office Procurator Fiscal Service, universities, NHS and local authorities, and professional groups such as forensic pathologists, managers and technicians.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Operations and Delivery in applying project management tools and approaches to the transformation programme.
- Research and analyse challenges and potential solutions related to workforce planning, digital harmonisation, standards establishment and clinical governance.
- Prepare and present findings in a concise and clear manner for stakeholders.
- Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders through regular updates.
Qualifications
- Member of the Armed Forces Community (veteran, service leaver or family member).
- Organisational and critical‑thinking skills with experience in problem‑solving.
- Familiarity with project‑management approaches and principles.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable with numeric and narrative data, able to collate and re‑present information concisely.
- Proficient in MS365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
Location and Working Pattern
36 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexible working patterns are agreed with the line manager to support family‑friendly work. Hybrid working from home with occasional in‑person meetings at PSD Scotland bases in Edinburgh (Gyle Square) or Glasgow (Delta House), and at post‑mortem service sites in Edinburgh, Dundee, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Travel on public transport is required as needed.
