Overview
This role leads end‑to‑end delivery of high‑power DC charging depot projects, managing contracts, grid connections, suppliers, budget, safety, risk and stakeholder alignment to advance the UK’s EV charging infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Own End‑to‑End Project Delivery across the complete pipeline of high‑power DC charging depot infrastructure deployment.
- Manage NEC short‑form contracts, handling instructions, compensation events and payment assessments.
- Coordinate grid connections with DNOs and IDNOs, securing capacity, managing applications, technical approvals and network upgrades.
- Lead and manage civil contractors, electrical installers and hardware partners to align on scope, programme, cost and quality.
- Build and maintain detailed project plans, balancing timelines, dependencies and cost loading to keep delivery on track.
- Manage budgets, procurement and forecasting, reporting on cost, value and risk throughout the lifecycle.
- Champion HSE best practice, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and internal quality expectations.
- Maintain stakeholder alignment across internal teams, clients, DNOs, contractors and delivery partners to solve issues quickly.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, protecting programme, cost and quality.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of project delivery experience in high‑power DC charging depots, utility‑scale renewables or heavy electrical infrastructure.
- Hands‑on experience managing NEC contracts (variations, compensation events, commercial risk).
- Strong technical understanding of high‑power DC charging technology (150kW–400kW+), liquid‑cooled cabling, power sharing architectures, BESS and LV/MV distribution systems.
- Familiarity with DNO processes, contestable works and large‑scale power connections.
- Formal project‑management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent practice.
- Good understanding of CDM regulations and HSE site safety regulations.
- Commercial acumen for managing contractor rates and equipment procurement.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
