Grade: UE05: £29,588 – £33,951 per annum, pro‑rata

Department: USG / Student Recruitment and Admissions

Type: Part‑time (17.5 hours per week), Fixed term until 31 July 2027

As Project Support Officer you will provide administrative and event support to Access to High Demand Professions (AHDP), a Widening Participation project at the University. You will work on Access to Creative Education Scotland (ACES) Edinburgh and Reach Edinburgh, contributing to supporting eligible school pupils with their application to higher education in high‑demand subject areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and event support to AHDP and related projects.
  • Support eligible school pupils with applications to higher education in high‑demand subject areas.
  • Coordinate and support regular events, including the ACES Portfolio Preparation Programme on Fridays 13:00–18:00 between 11 September 2026 and 22 January 2027.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to projects and events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external audiences.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Understanding of and empathy for student groups targeted within Widening Participation programmes.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good IT skills and working knowledge of MS Office packages.
  • Capable of passing a Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) check.

Working Hours and Location

Working days may be agreed between Tuesdays and Fridays. On campus work on Fridays is required during the ACES Programme. Hybrid working may be considered on a non‑contractual basis.
