Lead Security Architect

Salary: £100,000 – 100,000 per year

Requirements

• Experience performing risk assessments using MOD methodologies, such as NIST 800-53
• Experience supporting development using a secure by design methodology
• Experience working at a technical level with teams
• Knowledge of JSP 604/453
• Knowledge of Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD principles and their application in secure environments
• Must be a sole British national
• Must currently hold SC clearance
• Willingness to go through DV clearance

Responsibilities

• Carry out secure delivery of internal and MOD projects
• Support technical teams in delivering Kubernetes environments
• Manage risk and ensure the security architecture is proportionate to the GSC of the systems
• Work with other IT Architects and SMEs to deliver secure solutions
• Design options and solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities
• Produce evidence to meet MOD solution requirements
• Work with teams across the business, including Software Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, and Cyber Security
• Identify, design, and select appropriate security components to provide security enforcing functions across a variety of infrastructures, including cloud environments

We are seeking a Lead Security Architect to support secure delivery within our defence programmes, working across internal and MOD projects. You will join a collaborative environment, partnering with technical teams, architects, and subject matter experts across Software Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, and Cyber Security. The role is focused on securing Kubernetes and cloud environments, managing risk, and helping us deliver robust, compliant solutions in a highly regulated setting. Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be sole British nationals, currently hold SC clearance, and be willing to undergo DV clearance.
