Overview
An established Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Project Manager to join its growing delivery function.
This role will take ownership of a portfolio of customer-facing cyber security and managed service projects, ensuring successful delivery while maintaining strong stakeholder engagement across customers, technical teams, and business leadership.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple concurrent projects within a mature operational environment, working closely with Security Operations, Engineering, and Customer Success teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for a project manager with experience in cyber security, managed services, networking, telecommunications, or IT services environments.
Key Responsibilities: Project Delivery & Planning
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple customer-facing projects simultaneously, typically overseeing 10+ concurrent initiatives.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and success criteria in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Monitor project progress and ensure delivery remains on track against agreed milestones.
- Oversee projects through implementation, transition, and post-delivery review phases.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project communications between customers, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular engagement and proactive communication.
- Facilitate project meetings, workshops, planning sessions, and status reviews.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Translate technical concepts and project updates into clear business-focused communications.
Team Coordination
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including Security Operations, Engineering, Service Delivery, and Product teams.
- Support collaboration across internal departments to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Provide guidance and direction to project support resources, with potential line management responsibility for a Project Coordinator.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and maturity of project delivery practices.
- Identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and resource constraints.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimise delivery risk.
- Escalate critical issues where required and drive resolution.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, security requirements, and customer obligations.
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Champion Agile delivery methodologies and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilise established project governance frameworks and delivery processes.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and project artefacts.
- Promote best practice use of project management tools and delivery frameworks.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within Cyber Security.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent customer-facing projects.
- Strong stakeholder management and customer engagement skills.
- Working knowledge of PRINCE2 project management principles.
- Experience using project management and collaboration tools, including Microsoft Project and Azure DevOps.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Eligibility to obtain SC Clearance.
- Familiarity with cyber security technologies and services, including Microsoft Sentinel, SentinelOne, SIEM platforms, and EDR solutions.
- Professional certifications such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or PMI-ACP.
