Senior IT Services Manager, UNISON

UNISON is Britain’s leading public sector trade union, with more than 1.3 million members working in the public services, private, voluntary and community sectors and in the energy services. We employ 1,200 staff, including approximately 370 at our national centre in Euston, central London and the remainder in our 12 regions across the UK, in Northern Ireland.

An experienced technology and project lead, to develop and implement change and improvement to support UNISON’s strategic needs.

The role

• Operational management of UNISON’s IT infrastructure, demonstrating expertise and experience in networking, cloud computing, and communications technology.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft environment and its potential to transform both processes and workforce competence.
• Collaboration with our managed service provider and a range of other external suppliers.
• Understanding of the trade union or not-for-profit sector, recognising the opportunities and limitations of serving a values-driven and member-focused organisation.
• Ability to work with non-technical departments at national office and across UNISON’s regions, explaining complex issues to a range of audiences and persuading them to adopt proposals.
• Successful development and leadership of projects from inception to approval, then delivering them on time and within budget.
