About the role

The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) is a part of the Ministry of Defence responsible for the procurement, in‑service support, and disposal of the UK’s nuclear submarines. Within the SDA Combat Systems Delivery Team (CSDT) the Common Combat System (Future) (CCS(F)) Programme is tasked to deliver the SSNA Combat Systems Common Computing Environment (CCE) and Weapon Interfacing Equipment (WIE). The role is to act as the Knowledge and Information Manager for the programme.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop the Knowledge and Information Management Strategy for the CCS-F Programme.
  • Manage activities to ensure information is captured, stored, distributed, used, processed, retained and disposed in compliance with law, MOD policy and business requirements.
  • Act as the focal point for the release of documentation between the AUKUS nations and relevant industry partners in line with legislation and regulation (ITAR, Export Controls).
  • Track all information exchanges and Government Furnished (Assets/Equipment/Facilities/Information/Services) (GFX) requests.
  • Identify and mitigate information risks within the programme.
  • Support other functions within SDA and CSDT teams.
  • Review processes, technical capability and customer experience within current AUKUS arrangements, identify improvements and feed into AUKUS information‑exchange requirements.
  • Brief stakeholders and non‑technical colleagues on Knowledge and Information Management.
  • Develop IM tools within the area and actively seek new technology that enhances information flow.
  • Manage access to programme MS Teams, SharePoint, Email and PanBlue (AUKUS tool) and monitor compliance with IM standards, raising concerns to the Programme Lead.
  • Support AUKUS trilateral working group meetings.

Essential criteria

  • Degree in Information, Records or Knowledge Management or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team‑working skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and pro‑actively.
  • Detail‑driven and organised.
  • Behavioural competencies: Managing a Quality Service, Changing and Improving, Working Together.
  • Technical competence: Information Assurance (Supervised Practitioner), Knowledge Management (Practitioner).

Employment conditions

Full‑time 37hours per week. Part‑time and flexible arrangements are considered on a case‑by‑case basis. No relocation expenses are offered. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
