Service Transformation Dev Ops Engineer

The specialist will need to be a highly experienced (Practitioner level) Senior Dev Ops Engineer. Managing day to day support, technical leadership and guidance, creating a DevOps culture and implementing automation best practices. Upholding client values and working within Government Digital Standards.

Responsibilities

1. Develop test and implement Infrastructure as Code scripts for the ‘Zephyr test automation’ service in Azure using the likes of Terraform, Powershell and CloudFormation
2. Create, implement and Support CI/CD pipeline using Gitlab and Atlassian products incl Zephyr, Jira
3. Support all the above once implemented
4. Support the Strategy work to agree approach for migration of Test Environment Service from on-premise to Cloud
5. Build/migrate test environment service in the Cloud

Skills

• Evidence of, significant practical experience and detailed technical knowledge of Redhat based Linux distributions
• Evidence of, significant practical experience and detailed technical knowledge of Ansible Automation Platform and automating manual/human processes
• Evidence of, significant practical experience and detailed technical knowledge of Terraform
• Evidence of, significant experience and technical knowledge of managing infrastructure as code, catering for multiple environment differences (Cloud and On-Premise Hosting)
• Evidence of practical experience and detailed technical knowledge of Gitlab
• Demonstrate experience of working in regulated public sector environments (DWP, HMRC)
• Able to demonstrate mentoring other colleagues with technical matters
• Demonstrate experience of identification of manual processes, suitable for automation
• Use of Google Go language, Kubernetes and Docker.
• Evidence of practical experience of Jenkins
