The successful candidate will work within the IT Delivery function, responsible for ensuring environments across both on-premise and Azure cloud platforms are stable, available, fit for purpose and aligned to delivery demand. You will play a critical role in enabling predictable, high-quality software delivery across multiple products, teams and third-party suppliers.
As the single point of ownership for environment lifecycle management, you will establish governance, drive standardisation, coordinate suppliers and ensure environment readiness supports successful testing, release and deployment activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the organisation’s environment management strategy.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive environment roadmap covering platforms, products and suppliers.
- Manage the full environment lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, refresh, usage and decommissioning.
- Coordinate third-party providers to ensure services are delivered in line with agreed standards and SLAs.
- Drive consistency through governance, standards, naming conventions and configuration baselines.
- Partner with DevOps teams to support Infrastructure-as-Code and automated environment provisioning.
- Ensure compliance, audit and risk requirements are reflected within environment governance.
- Identify opportunities to improve tooling, processes and environment management maturity.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing complex environment landscapes across multiple systems, platforms and suppliers.
- Strong understanding of environment management principles, including provisioning, configuration and lifecycle management.
- Experience managing end-to-end environment lifecycles within enterprise delivery organisations.
- Knowledge of hybrid infrastructure environments, including on-premise and Azure platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code and automated provisioning practices.
- Strong stakeholder management, planning and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to establish governance, standards and repeatable processes.
- Experience with Azure cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Experience implementing environment automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within financial services.
