Overview

Are you an experienced Nurse / AHP with an accredited MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice including non medical prescribing? This exciting new post aims to provide specialist support and management of Parkinson’s Disease and its treatment through a new holistic pathway approach.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the Homerton Parkinson’s & movement disorders service to provide specialist outpatients services, inpatient review and support for adult community rehabilitation team Parkinson’s practitioner and complex community dwelling patients.
  • Deliver proactive, holistic and evidence based advanced assessment and management of people with Parkinson’s and other movement disorders.
  • Review and monitor response to treatment and alter plans as necessary based on the outcome of further investigations to ensure care is safe and effective.
  • Provide specialist input to ED, SDEC and Inpatient wards, including support with time critical medication and deliver specialist outpatient new and follow-up clinics and community home visits for complex and housebound patients.
  • Identify emergency presentations, patient deterioration, patients at risk or other issues that require further attention, and take appropriate actions.

Qualifications

  • Accredited MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice including non‑medical prescribing.
  • Experience as a Nurse or Allied Health Professional in a clinical setting.
