Position
An exciting opportunity has presented itself for an enthusiastic and motivated Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to join our South Ayrshire Elderly Community Mental Health Team, based at Ailsa Hospital, Ayr. This specific post is to join our Care Home Liaison Team which provides support to residents, staff and carers for care homes within South Ayrshire. We support people living with both organic and functional mental health conditions, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred care.
Hours
15 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9‑5. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will Do
You will provide assessments, ongoing support, and reviews for people aged 65 and over who are living with both organic and functional mental health conditions. The role also includes supporting residents who are experiencing stress and distress and providing training for staff in this area. Managing your own caseload effectively and maintaining best practice standards will be central to your work. You will work both as part of the team as well as autonomously, liaising with other professionals within the partnership.
Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post
Minimum of 2 years qualified as an RMN.
