Sister – Charge Nurse

We have an opportunity for a Sister – Charge Nurse to join our nursing department. This is a full‑time role of 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on clinical care and act as a senior point of support for complex or deteriorating patients.
• Coordinate daily clinical activity and ensure safe staffing levels, skill mix, and continuity of care.
• Allocate and supervise staff during shifts, ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined and patient needs are met.
• Support the development, appraisal, and competency assessment of junior nurses, HCAs, and students.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NMC and organisational standards.
• Promote compliance with infection prevention, medication safety, safeguarding and other clinical governance priorities.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with a valid NMC registration.
• Significant post‑registration experience in an acute or relevant speciality.
• Experience in leading and supervising a team within a clinical environment.
• Strong clinical decision‑making, communication and coordination skills.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and professional development.
