Responsibilities
- Take full clinical responsibility for the provision of high quality psychological services to individuals referred to the Clinical Health Psychological Service within an outpatient setting.
- Deliver highly specialist psychological assessments, requiring advanced theoretical and practical knowledge.
- Formulate, make decisions and implement highly specialist plans for psychological treatment.
- Devising and implementing a range of highly specialist psychological interventions for individuals, families and groups within the service.
- Make highly skilled evaluations and decisions about treatment options, taking into account theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors.
- Provide highly specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals and agencies outside the Trust when necessary, contributing directly to patient formulation, diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Ensure that all members of the multidisciplinary team have access to a psychologically based framework for understanding patient issues.
- Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual patients.
- Provide clinical supervision to qualified psychologists, trainee clinical/counselling psychologists on placement.
You will be leading a service provided by UHCW under a service level agreement into the George Eliot Hospital (GEH). The service accepts referrals from most clinical areas within the hospital, a paediatric diabetes post and a stroke rehabilitation post under this SLA. You will be part of the Psychological Service at UHCW, delivering psychological care within UHCW, outpatients and Coventry community health provision. You will work collaboratively with psychological colleagues across GEH and UHCW.
