An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the stroke therapy service at Peterborough City Hospital. The overall stroke pathway comprises a HASU and ASU at Peterborough City Hospital and acute beds at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The position is mainly at Peterborough City Hospital; however, flexibility will be required to provide cross‑site cover.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery of patient‑focused care in line with identified evidence‑based practice, local and national standards.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and multi‑agency teams.
- Participate in delegated projects for service development with the team.
- Act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have a complex presentation.
- Demonstrate a flexible approach to working in support of the whole inpatient/outpatient team.
- Undertake weekend working as required within service developments.
- Be available to provide clinical supervision.
- Guide Band 5 and support staff in the management and delivery of therapeutic care plans.
- Handle 80% clinical contact and 20% operational management within team requirements.
