- Provide technical guidance and quality assurance to project delivery and site teams
- Assist in the management of subcontractors, including tender evaluations, scope definition, performance monitoring, and project close-out
- Review and track design and procurement deliverables, including drawings, specifications, datasheets, and equipment submissions
- Liaise with internal design teams, procurement teams, and external subcontractors to effectively manage interfaces and change control processes
- Ensure commissioning requirements are embedded from the design stage and support technical governance reviews
- Review and contribute to key technical documentation, including Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), control philosophies, and compliance plans
- Coordinate off-site manufacturing activities (FATs) and ensure alignment with site delivery requirements
- Support site teams during installation, testing, and commissioning phases
- Monitor project risks and contribute to mitigation strategies
- Review subcontractor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure quality compliance throughout delivery
- Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality performance
Requirements:
- Experience in a Project Engineering role within MEICA, preferably in the water or utilities sector
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation systems
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and associated assets (e.g. pumping stations, treatment works)
- Experience supporting projects through design, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases
- Familiarity with UK water industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation (P&IDs, schematics, specifications)
- Strong coordination, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Relevant qualification in Engineering or Building Services (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
Desirable:

- Understanding of commissioning processes including FAT, SAT, and integrated system testing
- Membership or working towards membership of a professional body (e.g. CIBSE, IET, IChemE)
