Field Service Engineer

About the Role

Join BSH Home Appliances Group as a field-based technician covering areas within Surrey. This permanent (P) role requires 37.5 total weekly hours and focuses on repairing home appliances on site.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, diagnose faults and carry out repairs, modifications, and re-installations of home appliances to ensure first‑time resolution.
• Advise customers on correct product usage, resolve issues promptly, and maintain strong relationships with customers and support teams.
• Work within company policies, ensure a safe working environment, and adhere to health and safety standards at all times.
• Keep van stock, tools, and equipment in good condition, safeguard company property, and report unusual defects.
• Attend training courses, stay updated on technical information, and support colleagues’ development when required.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical, mechanical, and engineering knowledge with the ability to diagnose and fix faults.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and maintain professionalism.
• Physically fit, capable of handling and moving white goods equipment safely and efficiently.
• Computer literate and hold a full, UK valid driving licence.

Compensation & Benefits

• The advertised salary band is based on experience, technical ability and overall skill set.
• Starting salary is determined by demonstrated knowledge, competencies and relevant experience.
• Weighting allowance of £4,500.00 per annum, spread across 12 equal payments.
