Environmental Coordinator

Salary London: Base salary: £26,871pa to c£31,613pa dependent on skills and experience. An additional 15% flexible benefits fund, fully pensionable, is paid on top of base salary along with a range of competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Support the SEM/EM in organising, coordinating and undertaking the environmental element of the HS2 risk-based technical assurance of the works performed and assured by the Integrated Project Team.
  • Accountable for supporting the Senior Environment Manager with internal and external reporting of environmental matters.
  • Ensure timely assurance and acceptance of contractor reporting.
  • Support the SEM in tracking and coordinating accurate communications through the contract.
  • Assist the development and progression of environmental innovations identified by contractors.
  • Undertake desk-based and onsite environmental assurance and surveillance activities, and assist in the coordination and reporting of assurance findings.
  • Deputise for the Environment Manager as required.

  • Complex problem solving – identify complex problems, analyse data, evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Decision making – gather and synthesise information, identify options and apply judgement based on logic and data.
  • Communication – convey discipline-specific technical ideas to colleagues using clear examples.
  • Data management – apply principles and methods that ensure effective information management, modelling, data security and visualisation.

Knowledge

  • Environmental law and its relevance to infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of the regulatory and legislative framework relevant to HS2.

Experience

  • Experience of working to deadlines and communicating information in a clear and concise fashion.
