Control Systems Engineer – The Role
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of bespoke control and power systems, working as part of a project team with guidance from Senior Engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in the design of electrical power and control systems
- Design and implementation of Ethernet and serial communication networks
- Support PLC programming using Siemens TIA Portal and/or Rockwell
- Produce & maintain technical documentation (specifications, risk assessments, manuals, etc.)
- Providing technical support to clients, both on-site and remotely – with support
- Peer review of engineering designs
- Commissioning support at customer sites (up to 20% travel including international & offshore)
Control Systems Engineer – The Person
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
- Ability with PLC programming – Siemens or Rockwell ideal but all considered
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical (advantageous but not essential)
- Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills
- Flexibility to travel internationally when required
- Strong problem‑solving skills, adaptability, and a proactive mindset
