Job Description:

An opportunity exists for a key member of our robotics team working on design, implementation and testing of Industrial Automation systems for projects locally and internationally.

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical and controls elements of automated systems
    • Specify robotics and controls hardware, field I/O and safety circuits
    • Prepare and manage mechatronic information packages for electrical design engineers
  • Develop clear system documentation
    • System and Network Diagrams
    • Operator & Maintenance Manuals
  • Work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers on System and Machine Design
  • Work closely with Controls Engineers and Programmers on PLC, Robotics, and Industrial networks
  • Support the integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Assist with system build, testing, and commissioning
  • Fault‑finding and detailed reports of issues
  • Support compliance with relevant machine safety and electrical standards

Key Criteria

  • Engineering Degree (or equivalent) in Mechatronics or a related discipline
  • Experience in Industrial Automation, Machine building or Mechatronics environment
  • Critical and analytical thinker
  • Creative, inventive, and eager learner
  • Technical and IT confident, with strong mathematical mind
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communicator
  • Adept with MS Office suite – strength in Excel is essential
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD software is essential
  • Time management, organisational mindset and prioritisation skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally – including extended periods when required
  • Full UK driving license
  • Experience with design principles and troubleshooting of Robotic systems and Industrial Automation
  • Ability and willingness to assist with mechanical and system logic design
    • Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD
  • Familiarity with controls software – TIA Portal / Studio 5000
  • Familiarity with reading code and/or modification of Robot Code

The post is for a full‑time candidate with a flexible approach to work and willingness to build strong relationships with the wider team. Based at our design office in Co. Tyrone.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be able to travel to customer sites in the EU and Internationally for project work when required. UK Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
