Instrumentation, Control and Automation Technician

Responsibilities

• Planned, reactive and proactive maintenance including fault finding, calibration, testing, investigation and programming on a variety of equipment sets such as telemetry, analysers, dosing equipment, control systems (networks, MCC/LVA components, PID controllers) and instrumentation (flowmeters, level transmitters, pressure transducers, temperature probes).
• Implement process improvements.
• Diagnose control system faults on PLC control systems (Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley and other package plant PLCs), perform HMI & SCADA system backups and modifications.
• Set up and maintain site control networks.
• Undertake planned maintenance and/or calibrate instrumentation.
• Respond to faults and alarms.
• Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a time-served apprenticeship (or equivalent).
• Strong problem‑solving and fault‑finding skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems.
• Live within 45 minutes of our sites.
• ONC or HNC in Instrumentation, Electronics or Control is desirable.

Desirable Experience

• Experience in process‑oriented industries such as water, petrochemical or manufacturing.
