Job Description:

We are recruiting a Mobile Engineer to join the team located at sites across the North of England between Leeds and Doncaster. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all environmental conditions are maintained around critical building systems and for carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works on all mechanical and electrical systems within the sites.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to sites across the advertised locations.
  • Ensure routine Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) (to SFG20) is carried out on all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with site task schedules and asset lists.
  • Complete reactive tasks throughout the building, proactively highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Handle concessionary store and fabric related items as part of reactive calls.
  • Remediate plant faults and defects promptly to maintain plant in serviceable order.
  • Ensure suitable spares are available for both maintenance and reactive works.
  • Provide parts lists and estimated timeframes for remedial works.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork for PPM, reactive and breakdown works and promptly pass it to the contract administrator.
  • Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
  • Develop good working relationships with all CBRE staff, subcontractors and client representatives.
  • Provide a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Wear uniform and PPE at all times.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date shift logs.
  • Keep all plant rooms under CBRE responsibility locked and in a clean, tidy condition.
  • Supervise and monitor subcontractor works while on site.
  • Arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover on short notice and be flexible with working patterns.
  • Undertake lone working where required, subject to satisfactory training.
  • Ensure all tasks are actioned and completed appropriately, with H&S awareness and implementation.
  • Comply with contractual KPI’s/SLA’s.
  • Keep the Computer Based Maintenance system (SILOCAL) up to date and close PPM/reactive tickets with accurate data.
  • Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with CBRE Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements.
  • Provide holiday and emergency cover as required, potentially at sites not normally covered.
  • Perform any other tasks directed by the account management team.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good basic education with good written and spoken English.
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • City & Guilds qualification in a relevant field.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Calm manner, able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to make sound decisions when needed.
  • Physically fit and able to carry tools and components by hand up to 20kg.
  • Able to ascend and descend vertical access equipment and work at heights.
  • Team player, able to work with CBRE Managed Services and Alstom representatives at all levels.
  • Good PC skills.
  • All‑round knowledge of general building works, diagnostic and repair procedures, and working knowledge of building services systems and maintenance schedules.
  • Formal training in electrical/mechanical maintenance.
  • BMS knowledge.
  • Mechanical and commissioning experience.
  • Recognised Health and Safety qualification, e.g., IOSH.
  • Knowledge of UPS, generators, HV, PDUs, CRAC units or equivalent, including fault finding using graphical information and utilisation of current alarm data.
  • Understanding of the demarcation between maintainable assets and BPL maintained assets within laboratory and production environments.
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance skills and maintaining all relevant mechanical and electrical equipment to defined criteria.
