Quality Engineer

Location: LedburySalary: £40,000 – £45,000Contract: Permanent | Full Time

Are you an experienced Quality Engineer looking to play a key role in maintaining high manufacturing standards within a growing engineering business? This is an excellent opportunity to join an established manufacturer where you’ll drive continuous improvement, support compliance with internationally recognised quality standards, and work closely with production and engineering teams to deliver exceptional products.

The Role

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the company’s Quality Management Systems while supporting manufacturing operations to ensure products consistently meet customer, regulatory and industry requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and improving ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems
  • Supporting internal and external audits, ensuring ongoing compliance with quality standards
  • Investigating non-conformances, customer complaints and product returns using structured problem-solving techniques
  • Leading root cause analysis, CAPA and 8D investigations to drive continuous improvement
  • Creating inspection criteria and supporting new product introductions
  • Managing quality control plans using risk-based methodologies
  • Supporting production teams with quality documentation, inspections and process improvements
  • Working collaboratively across engineering, production and supply chain functions to improve quality performance

Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems including ISO 9001 (ISO 13485 experience highly advantageous)
  • Experience using quality tools such as 8D, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions Internal auditing experience Experience using measuring equipment and quality inspection techniques Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills Ability to interpret quality data and produce technical reports

Desirable:

  • Internal Auditor qualification
  • Experience within regulated manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 or Health & Safety Management Systems
