Job Description:

We are seeking a Systems Engineer for our Leidos engineering capability. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of systems engineering principles and prior experience integrating software products from suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of sub‑systems, ensuring all components function cohesively to meet specified requirements.
  • Liaise with stakeholders (both technical and non‑technical) to gather, analyse, and refine system requirements.
  • Support the definition and design of interfaces.
  • Create and maintain detailed system design documentation, including specifications, diagrams, and interface definitions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to determine optimal system design solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, and network components.
  • Support the validation and verification of system designs.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and drive the implementation of best practices in design and integration.
  • Support project planning and estimation activities related to systems design and integration tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in system design within a relevant industry.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering methodologies, lifecycle management, and design principles.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in cross‑functional teams.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with ArchiMate and TOGAF.
  • Background in cybersecurity and/or cloud systems.
  • Knowledge of secure‑by‑design guidelines.
  • Knowledge of JSP465.

Location

Farnborough, UK (Hybrid working – on‑site presence required as dictated by programme and customer engagement).
