Freelance Setting Out Engineer – Net Zero Infrastructure Project – Teesside

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Setting Out Engineer to join a major Net Zero infrastructure scheme in Teesside. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a landmark project that will play a key role in the UK’s transition to a low‑carbon economy.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out and surveying duties across the project site.
• Ensure works are delivered accurately and in accordance with design drawings and specifications.
• Produce and maintain accurate site records, as-built surveys, and quality documentation.
• Liaise closely with Site Managers, Subcontractors, and the Project Team.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project requirements and tolerances.
• Assist with quality assurance processes and technical problem-solving on site.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on major civil engineering, infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects.
• Competent in the use of Leica or Trimble surveying equipment.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and construction specifications.
• Experience producing as-built records and quality documentation.
• CSCS Card essential.
• SMSTS or SSSTS desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
