We are recruiting a Mobile Engineer to join the team located at sites across the Midlands including Hinckley, Rugby, and Coventry.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all environmental conditions are maintained for critical building systems and carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works for all mechanical and electrical systems within the sites.
- Travel to sites across the advertised locations. Full UK driving licence required.
- Conduct routine PPM (to SFG 20) to all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with site task schedules and asset lists.
- Complete reactive tasks throughout the building and proactively highlight areas for improvement, including concessionary stores and fabric‑related items.
- Remedy plant faults and defects swiftly to keep the plant in serviceable order.
- Ensure suitable spares are available for maintenance and reactive works.
- Provide parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial works.
- Complete all relevant paperwork for PPM, reactive and breakdown works and submit to the contract administrator without delay.
- Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
- Develop a good working relationship with all members of CBRE staff, subcontractors and client representatives.
- Provide a safe and healthy working environment.
- Wear uniform and PPE at all times and present the professional image of CBRE Managed Services.
- Keep shift logs up‑to‑date at all times.
- Ensure all plant rooms under responsibility are locked and kept clean and tidy.
- Supervise and monitor subcontractors’ works while on site.
- Arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in working patterns.
- Undertake lone working when required, subject to satisfactory training.
- Complete tasks as directed with appropriate H&S awareness and implementation.
- Maintain awareness and compliance with contractual KPIs/SLA’s.
- Keep the Computer Based Maintenance system, SI LOCAL, up‑to‑date and close PPM and reactive tickets with accurate data.
- Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with CBRE Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements.
- Provide holiday and emergency cover as required, potentially at sites not normally covered.
- Carry out any other tasks as directed by the account management team.
Qualifications
- Good basic education, written and spoken English, basic mathematics skills, and a CITY AND GUILDS qualification in a relevant field.
- Commitment to excellent customer service, calm manner, ability to work under pressure, and sound decision‑making skills.
- Physically fit, able to carry tools and components by hand up to 20 kg, and able to ascend and descend vertical access equipment and work at heights.
- A team player, able to work with CBRE Managed Services and Alstom representatives at all levels.
- Good PC skills and knowledge of general building works, diagnostics and repair procedures.
- Formal training in electrical/mechanical maintenance, BMS knowledge, mechanical and commissioning experience.
- Recognised Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH.
- Demonstrated knowledge of UPS, generators, HV, PDU’s, CRAC units, or equivalent, and ability to fault‑find using graphical information and current alarm data.
- Understanding of the demarcation between maintainable assets and BPL‑maintained assets within laboratory and production environments.
- Experience maintaining all relevant mechanical and electrical equipment to defined criteria.
- Full UK driving licence.
