Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Electrical Estimation Specialist to support the successful delivery of industrial electrical projects by producing accurate, competitive, and commercially viable cost estimates. Working within process‑driven environments such as manufacturing plants and utilities, you will play a key role in preparing tenders, evaluating project requirements, and contributing to business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical installation projects, including:
- Power distribution systems
- Motor Control Centres (MCCs)
- Control panels
- Instrumentation Cabling
- Containment systems
- Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
- Compile comprehensive tender submissions in accordance with client specifications and deadlines.
- Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and commercial considerations.
- Liaise with project engineers, designers, project managers, and clients to clarify technical requirements.
- Maintain estimating records and support project handovers to the delivery team.
- Ensure all estimates comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Person Specification
- Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within industrial, manufacturing, process, or utilities sectors.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical installations and systems.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of:
- BS7671 Wiring Regulations
- Industrial electrical standards
- Hazardous area installations (ATEX)
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
