Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage the risks to the client through the equipment on site, including identifying critical spares, improving performance of plant and equipment, managing environmental conditions on site through the BMS system, and running all plant and equipment efficiently while improving and implementing the preventative maintenance program.
  • Use new equipment and technologies to maintain a working and comfortable environment, liaising with the client on any requests for reactive tasks and PPM activities.
  • Fault find on all types of HVAC plant and equipment with a bias to the maintenance of Variable Refrigerant Volume air conditioning systems.
  • Work with refrigerant and have the necessary qualifications for handling F‑Gas.
  • Support the team in relation to Health and Safety, act as the Energy Champion and assist in the role of Safety Champion for the site.
  • Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance team.
  • Write and follow Risk Assessments, and be available to question any issues which arise from them safely and accurately.
  • Complete the required documentation as specified with the requirements of all rules and legislation.
  • Use mobile devices to accurately project and complete any works from the CAFM Maintenance System.
  • Use email/calendar to plan your daily work requirements so all tasks are completed effortlessly and efficiently.
  • Liaise with the onsite supervisor and account manager to manage any building services related issues, responding confidently and accurately as required.
  • Act as the responsible person for the team when required, deputising for the site supervisor during annual leave or sickness.
  • Work overtime as and when the business requires, which may include nights and weekends without prior notice.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as and when required.
  • Supervise and manage sub‑contractors.
  • Participate on an on‑call rota for emergency call‑out purposes outside of normal working hours.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Recognised or Time‑Served Apprenticeship.
  • Strong proven experience in HVAC maintenance.
  • Mechanical competences/qualifications to an acceptable standard to City and Guild’s Mechanical.
  • Good multi‑skilled ability.
  • Ability to fault find.
  • Ability to supervise contractors.
  • Ability to complete Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Ability to understand and write permits and safe systems of work.
  • F‑Gas safe handling and use of refrigerants.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Working at Height qualification.
  • IPAF / PASMA.
  • AP qualifications.
  • BMS system experience.
  • HVAC controls.
