Job Description:

You’ll act as Aviva’s lead offshore wind specialist, helping us assess and manage risk across projects worldwide. As part of our Renewables Risk Management team, you’ll work closely with underwriting, claims and brokers. While offshore wind is a core focus, the role also supports a wider range of renewable energy technologies, including solar and battery storage. Your insight helps us make better decisions and grow a strong renewables insurance proposition. You’ll deliver clear, practical risk advice and build strong relationships across the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Aviva’s lead expert and focal point for offshore wind risks
  • Assess risks across offshore wind farms, interconnectors, cables and offshore substations
  • Carry out surveys and desktop risk reviews across global projects
  • Respond to technical and commercial queries from brokers, clients and colleagues
  • Support and help deliver Aviva Performance Insights – a bespoke service for operational asset owners that offers insights and improvement suggestions to deliver value creation and risk reduction
  • Work closely with underwriters to support client and broker engagement
  • Collaborate with claims and Aviva Risk Management Solutions (ARMS) to strengthen our offshore wind proposition
  • Develop thought leadership and loss prevention standards for the market
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the offshore wind sector
  • Expand your knowledge into other renewable technologies such as solar and battery energy storage systems
  • Maintain relevant qualifications to carry out offshore wind surveys and support onshore wind surveys

Qualifications

  • Experience in offshore wind, marine engineering, or a related insurance role such as loss adjusting or risk management
  • Strong understanding of construction, operations or maintenance risks in offshore wind
  • Knowledge of offshore electrical cables (desirable)
  • Confident communicator who can explain complex technical issues clearly to different stakeholders
  • Able to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work on time
