Job Title: Electrical Estimation Specialist (Electrical Estimator)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Estimation Specialist to support the successful delivery of industrial electrical projects by producing accurate, competitive, and commercially viable cost estimates. Working within process-driven environments such as manufacturing plants and utilities, you will play a key role in preparing tenders, evaluating project requirements, and contributing to business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical installation projects, including:
- Power distribution systems
- Motor Control Centres (MCCs)
- Control panels
- Instrumentation
- Cabling and containment systems
- Produce material take-offs and labour estimates.
- Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
- Compile comprehensive tender submissions in accordance with client specifications and deadlines.
- Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and commercial considerations.
- Liaise with project engineers, designers, project managers, and clients to clarify technical requirements.
- Maintain estimating records and support project handovers to the delivery team.
- Ensure all estimates comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within industrial, manufacturing, process, or utilities sectors.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical installations and systems.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of:
- BS7671 Wiring Regulations
- Industrial electrical standards
- Hazardous area installations (ATEX)
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
