Student Support Manager – Required for September 2026

Overview

Energetic and compassionate individuals who want to make a real difference to young people are invited to join Idsall School as a Student Support Manager. The role focuses on providing personal guidance and support to students and serving as the first point of contact for students and parents regarding school-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal guidance and support to students.
  • Act as the first point of contact for students and parents with issues arising at school.
  • Support students with a wide variety of pastoral needs, including those who are disengaged, display challenging behaviour, or require emotional support.
  • Work under the direction of the Heads of Year and the Assistant Headteacher (Behaviour and Attitudes).
  • Liaise with teachers and support staff as appropriate.
  • Work independently, taking initiative to achieve goals and meet student needs.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents and other adults.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Passionate about children and their well‑being.
  • Strong communication skills across a range of audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Experience or understanding of pastoral support for students is desirable.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Salary and Working Hours

Salary: Grade 7 (Spinal Points 12‑17, £14.82‑£16.08 per hour). Hours: 37 hours per week – Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, Friday 8:00am to 3:00pm, term time only.

Benefits
