Introduction


Tronox are looking for a Laboratory Scientist Apprentice in the R&D department. During the course of the apprenticeship, you will receive practical and theoretical training in laboratory techniques such as Product Development, Analytical Science & Applications Research, which will support a future career in the Chemical Industry.

What You’ll Do


The apprentice will be based in the Research & Development laboratories and will develop practical skills required by a fast‑responding manufacturing environment. The duties will include:



  • Product development

  • Analytical science

  • Applications research


In addition to laboratory‑based activities, there will also be the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the inorganic titanium dioxide manufacturing process and other support services. All training will be conducted within Safety, Health and Environmental procedures, and you will be provided with high‑quality knowledge of these throughout the apprenticeship.

On completion of the apprenticeship, successful candidates could secure a role in a successful, dynamic company.

Qualifications



  • Essential – GCSE – English, Maths and Science plus 2 other subjects – Grade 5 or above

  • Essential – A Level – Chemistry – A/A* or B, C, C (UCAS 104 pts)

Working Arrangements


Working week: 08:00 – 16:00, Monday to Thursday. 08:00 – 15:00, Friday. 30 minutes unpaid lunch. Expected duration: 5 years. Training provider: MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY.
