The Role
As a Freight Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing international Air and Sea Freight shipments from start to finish, ensuring a high level of service is delivered to customers and partners worldwide.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day bookings for worldwide Air and Sea Freight shipments
- Coordinating shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Completing customs entries for imported goods
- Raising and maintaining job files and all associated documentation
- Processing shipments using the company’s in-house freight software system
- Liaising extensively with suppliers, carriers, and overseas agents
- Negotiating rates and services with suppliers
- Supporting the sales team with quotations and service updates
- Invoicing completed shipments accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant customs and freight regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience in both Air Freight and Sea Freight operations is essential
- Experience with a UK based freight forwarder is required
- Proven experience managing shipments from start to finish
- Customs entries experience is essential
- Strong understanding of international freight forwarding processes
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment
