About the Role
Washington Academy is seeking an experienced, highly organised and proactive Operations Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational leadership of our thriving academy, ensuring our students and staff benefit from a safe, efficient and well‑managed learning environment.

Responsibilities
- Report to the Head of Operations and work closely with the Principal.
- Lead the academy’s operational services, ensuring excellence across estates, facilities and site management; health and safety compliance; administration and business support services; finance and procurement; human resources; catering and transport; IT service coordination; marketing and communications; risk management and statutory compliance.
- Contribute strategically to whole‑school improvement as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Lead and develop support staff and collaborate with Trust‑wide specialist teams to deliver outstanding operational services.
Qualifications
- Significant operational or business management experience, ideally within education or a similarly complex organisation.
- Inspiring leadership with excellent people‑management skills.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety, compliance and facilities management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities whilst maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
- Financially astute with experience of budgets, procurement and contract management.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
