Job Description:

StrongGuard Security UK is seeking a motivated and professional Business Development Executive to join our growing commercial team.

This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys meeting people, building relationships and generating new business opportunities through proactive face-to-face engagement. The successful candidate will generate qualified business opportunities and appointments for the Commercial Director through proactive face-to-face engagement with prospective clients. They will be responsible for identifying prospective clients, promoting our security solutions and developing a pipeline of qualified opportunities to support business growth.

This is a flexible part-time position, offering 8 hours per week. The successful candidate may choose their preferred working day between Monday and Friday, between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct proactive field visits to businesses within an assigned geographical territory.
  • Introduce and promote StrongGuard Security UK’s services and solutions.
  • Build rapport with business decision makers and identify potential opportunities.
  • Assess customer requirements and qualify sales interest.
  • Schedule qualified appointments and provide accurate prospect information to the Commercial Director.
  • Maintain accurate records of visits, conversations and follow-up actions.
  • Record activities and outcomes within the CRM or designated tracking system.
  • Meet agreed business development targets, including visits, decision-maker conversations, appointments and qualified opportunities.
  • Maintain knowledge of company services, promotions and industry developments.
  • Attend networking events, exhibitions and business development activities.
  • Represent StrongGuard Security UK professionally at all times.
  • Identify opportunities for additional or bundled services where appropriate.

Experience

  • Previous experience in business development, sales, lead generation, customer-facing prospecting or a similar role.
  • Ideally 3+ years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating job-ready skills and a proven track record.
  • Experience within facilities management, security or contract-based services is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment.
  • Experience working to targets or KPIs, with a proven ability to generate leads, appointments or business opportunities.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade 4/C or above), or equivalent.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Access to reliable transport.
  • Ability to provide references from previous sales or customer-facing roles.

  • Capable of identifying upsell or bundled service opportunities during initial conversations.
  • Comfortable representing a growing business in a competitive market environment.
  • Ability to identify trigger events such as new signage, refurbishments, construction activity or staffing changes.
  • Comfortable asking commercial questions around current providers, contract terms and renewal dates.
  • Strong territory planning skills with the ability to map and prioritise target areas effectively.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to adapt to an ever-changing digital environment.
