The main purpose of the role is to plan and manage Force Level Events and other high-risk policing operations
Main Responsibilities:
Provide specialist advice and knowledge when planning or exercising for large-scale events. |
To compile and maintain contingency plans and operational orders including policing responses to events / anticipated incidents (including major incidents) across Warwickshire. |
To research, review, develop and liaise with interested partners when compiling contingency plans and operational orders (e.g. Force Duty Inspectors and multi-agency partners). |
Provide logistical support to significant operations across Warwickshire policing area. |
Provide expertise and operational support to Warwickshire Police in the event of a Major Incident. |
Provide specialist advice (including risk management and security advice) to Local Authority Safety and Advisory Groups (SAG) and multi-agency partnerships relating to events and operational planning. |
Develop specialist knowledge and provide advice in respect of – Public Order/ CBRN / Disaster Victim Identification/ National Police Mobilisation / Debriefing/ Logistics (Equipment) Management. |
To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required. |
All members are to comply with all Health and Safety regulations in accordance with the Warwickshire Police Health and Safety Policy. |
Knowledge:
Knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and the European Convention on Human Rights Act relating to planning
Demonstrate an understanding of Emergency Preparedness, Recovery and Response
Working knowledge of HSE Health and Safety guidance and Risk Management
Experience:
Substantial experience of planning large scale events
Key Skills:
Competent in the use of IT including Word and Excel
Special Conditions: standby duty and occasional out of hours working, travel throughout Warwickshire
