About the Role
Im recruiting on behalf of a growing logistics business that is looking for an experienced Transport Manager to take ownership of their driver team and company fleet. This is a key operational role, overseeing UK and European transport activity, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of professional drivers, ensuring high standards and adherence to company policies.
Oversee daily fleet scheduling, route planning, and operational coordination.
Ensure punctual delivery of goods across UK and European locations.
Maintain full compliance across vehicle servicing, road safety, and transport regulations.
Monitor driver performance, working hours, and regulatory compliance.
Manage transport documentation, reporting, and audit readiness.
Investigate incidents and operational issues, implementing corrective actions.
Work closely with senior management to improve fleet efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Experience & Requirements
Proven experience in transport or fleet management.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing driver teams.
Solid understanding of transport regulations and compliance standards.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Confident using IT systems and transport management software.
Clean, valid driving licence.
Experience managing HGV and mixed commercial fleets.
Knowledge of driver hours regulations.
