As an Apprentice Service Engineer you will be partnered withnan experienced Medical Service Engineer n Both roles will be homenbased and will travel throughout Cambridge and surrounding areas, asnwell as other parts of the UK and will involve spending time awaynfrom home regularly. In return our client offers a generous salarynplus company vehicle and ongoing product and self- improvementntraining programmes as well as covering all expenses and food andnmeal allowances when staying away. n THE ROLE: As annApprentice Service Engineer / Medical Service Engineer you will benresponsible for working on a range of medical equipment includingnSteam Sterilizers, Instrument Washer Disinfectors, Endoscope WashernDisinfectors, and on Steam Generation plants. n Key Responsibilitiesnfor the Apprentice Service Engineer / Medical Service Engineer innCambridge and surrounding areas: n nt Be resourceful, show initiative,ntand can deal with multiple tasks and work under pressurent n Be tasked with performingntcommissioning, validation, planned preventative maintenance andntreactive breakdown and repair activities to products located atntcustomers’ premisesnt n Be home based and you will travelntthroughout the UK; this post involves spending time away from homentregularlyn n n THE CANDIDATE: nThe successful Medical Service Engineer must be qualified bynexperience or have a minimum of an ONC or City and Guildsnqualification in a relevant Engineering subject, and must havensignificant experience with automated systems, steam, compressor,npumps or other relevant industries. You must have completed a timenserved apprenticeship or have relevant working experience in ansimilar role and will ideally have experience of working within annISO registered environment. It is essential you have valid UK drivingnlicence, good IT skills, and excellent communication skills and haventhe self-motivation and the ability to work as an individual or asnpart of a team. Although not essential candidates with electricalnexperience would be highly desirable. n n If you’re applyingnfor the Apprentice Service Engineer position, you will ideally have anGrade C / 4 or above GCSE (or equivalent qualification) and will neednto be resourceful, show initiative, good analytical skills and thatnyou can deal with multiple tasks and work under pressure. You shouldnbe someone who has an inquisitive mind and who has a natural passionnfor engineering and any hands on experience, for example in re wiringnor equipment, stripping of cars / engines or other engineeringnprincipals would be welcomed. You must be someone who is reliable,npunctual, is IT literate and is committed to attending college ornappropriate training establishments as required.
