Overview

Harvey Nash Executive Search is delighted to be partnering with a well-known Glasgow employer, as part of ongoing strategic investment into their Technology leadership team. This is a great new opportunity to work with a complex, global organisation as their Chief of Staff to the CTIO — a newly created, senior, high-impact role at the centre of technology strategy, transformation and executive decision-making.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technology leader who can operate as a trusted strategic partner, bringing clarity, structure and momentum across a broad IT agenda.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the CTIO in driving strategic priorities and organisational alignment
  • Shaping IT governance, planning, performance and executive communications
  • Evolving the IT operating model, workforce strategy and internal capability
  • Acting as a senior representative of the CTIO office across key forums and initiatives
  • Leading cross-functional activity across a complex, global environment

Qualifications

  • Significant senior IT leadership experience spanning many years, ideally gained in complex, technology-enabled organisation.
  • Currently working at C-level/ C-level minus one within a similar Technology Leadership
  • Strong expertise in IT strategy, governance, planning and organisational change management.
  • Experience shaping IT operating models, organisational design, workforce strategy and evolving delivery approaches.
  • A proven track record in dealing with ambiguity; identifying areas for improvement and creating opportunities to drive efficiencies for the business.
  • Commercial and operational capability across budget planning, financial management, workforce planning and performance improvement.
  • Recent experience within a global, fast paced private sector environment.
  • Broad understanding of current and emerging technologies, with the judgement to apply innovation where it creates business value.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate technology into clear business language.
  • Adaptable, customer-focused and comfortable driving business, culture and technology change in a complex environment. Proven ability to lead, develop and influence teams, including cross-functional groups and senior stakeholders.
  • Be commutable or prepared to re-locate to Glasgow
