About the role

We are recruiting a full time Business Officer to provide high quality administrative support to the Children in Care Commissioning and Home Finding Team. This post will be fixed term until March 31st 2027.

The Home Finding and Commissioning team contribute to delivering positive outcomes for children and young people by arranging suitable homes for children and young people in care, and ensuring these homes are good quality and providing value for money.

Our Business Officer is an important role at the heart of the high-quality service we provide.

You will be part of a highly motivated team, working closely with a range of professionals, with the aim of ensuring we deliver the best possible outcomes for our children and young people. The role can be undertaken remotely or from the office based at New Shire Hall. There will be occasions when the post holder will be expected to attend team and service meetings, including team training.

About you

To be considered for this exciting role the candidate will:

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Be able to work within defined processes/procedures.
  • Have experience in calendar management, setting up meetings, and taking minutes.
  • Work effectively with colleagues as part of a team.
  • Have a willingness to learn and progress with a can-do attitude.
  • Have an interest in working with data across various systems.
